About the School
Fulham Branch
The Fulham branch was founded in 2009 by Bridget Hearne-Saliba at Nuffield Health Fulham, SW6. After a successful 6 years Bridget decided to retire and the school was taken over by Jemima Rose (BABE, RAD RTS) in July 2015 with the launch of the new name The Rose School of Ballet. Miss Jemima had previously taught at the school for a year and a half before taking on ownership of the school. In 2020 we expanded further to offer Silver Swans Ballet classes for adults with Miss Jemima being a Licensee of the Silver Swans franchise.
Barnes Branch
Formerly known as The Barnes Ballet School, our Saturday classes in Barnes were set up 1998 at St Michael's Church Hall, Barnes by Nicola Lister. Miss Lister passed her knowledge and love of dance to hundreds of students over 25 years in the area. In July 2023 Miss Lister decided to step back from the school and kindly entrusted the Saturday classes to Miss Jemima who had worked at the school since September 2021. Saturday classes will now be run under the The Rose School of Ballet from September 2023 onward.
Ethos
The ballet classes follow the examination system of the Royal Academy of Dance, an internationally recognized examination board for ballet; with children welcome to join from the age of 3. Through dance children can gain a love of movement and performance, confidence, co-ordination and self- discipline. All staff are qualified and DBS checked and the school holds a 100% exam pass rate.
Teacher Training
Miss Jemima has been proud to be an RAD mentor to future teachers since 2021. As part of this programme students studying in their 2nd and 3rd year at the Royal Academy of Dance to gain their teaching qualifications will be invited to attend their placement within the school to gain valuable teaching experience in a current ballet school environment.
